As one of the largest fundamental research organization in Europe, CNRS is involved in all scientific fields and is largely involved in national, European, and international projects. CNRS is organized in 1211 laboratories, either intramural or in partnership with universities, other research organizations or industry. The Institut d’Optique Théorique et Appliquée (IOTA), Joint Research Unit with CNRS consists of around 120 members, including researchers, technicians, PhD students and post-doctoral fellows. IOTA trains top-class engineering physicists. Graduates of IOTA pursue their careers in all fields, from upstream research and marketing to development, strategic marketing and industrial production.
